Late Night Thoughts

PELOSI - As you should know, I'm an Independent. Politically it's hard, mentally it feels so good. I've just gotten tired of all the social bullshit that the Right does all the time. That's what has drove me to be this way.

Now, having said that, there are some Democrats I actually think are decent. The Blue Dogs seem to be OK, as does that Gillibrand in NY, and obviously, Joe Lieberman. These people try to actually think for themselves and do what is best for the people. That's cool!

On the other hand, you have Nancy Pelosi. This creature is so out of touch with reality it's scary. She was saying today that when it comes to her bullshit health care bill that when Congress when home and talked to their constituites, that they'd see that the people want her bill. Really? Have you seen the polls lately lady? Have you? Now, I understand you live in your little world and all that, but c'mon! No one has bothered to tell you what's going on? You don't watch TV? Nothing like that? OK, let me fill you in.

IT IS FAILING PELOSI!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

The people of this country are turning against it! Hello! Even a network very favorable to you, CNN, has polling that says 50% or more do not like it! With the exception of the garbage rags like MSNBC, Daily Kos, and maybe The Huffington Post, every other respectable news organization has polling that says the American people don't like your plan! Get it! It's failing! The more people learn about it, the more people don't like it! Hello!! Why is that so hard for you to understand? Repeat after me, IT IS FAILING!! Maybe I need to slow it down to your level Pelosi. OK, here goes.. I T I S F A I L I N G ! ! ! ! ! ! ! ! ! DUH!

Then again, at this rate, she won't be Speaker after January 2011 anyway. Thank God!

AUGUST - I cannot believe it is lees than 24 hours at this point from being August. Where in the hell is this year going? It just flies by so damn quick now! Slow down time, slow down!

WE GOT EGGED - The other night someone tossed a egg at our back door. No harm came. We figure it was a kid or two messing around. It didn't hurt anything and the mess was easy to clean, so actually it was no big deal. Kinda funny though. And, at least it ain't a Barb thing!

WHAT I'M LISTENING TO -
1. "The Sun Goes Down" - Thin Lizzy
2. "Pull Me Under" - Dream Theater
3. "A Country Boy Can Survive" - Hank Williams Jr.
4. "Edge Of Thorns" - Savatage
5. "Heaven Tonight" - Yngwie J. Malmsteen

COAST TO COAST - Also want to give a shout out to Coast To Coast AM on the radio. Helps me to fall asleep every night. Nice!

PARTY - Going to a 40th B'day Party Saturday Night. Should be a cool time there!

When it's time to go, it's time to go!

Why I Like Living In Carrollton

You would think that living in close proximity to Saginaw would be a bad thing. Not quite actually.

We live in Carrollton. It is the first place north of Saginaw. We only live 3 miles from the Saginaw city limit. We are close. And, so far, it's been great! No crime. Quiet. Peaceful. It's more like small towns over in the Thumb. It's really nice here. Since my family and I moved over here in Febuary, we have been nothing but happy here.

One of the reasons why is the schools. The Carrollton School District is extremely nice. This is great for Stevie. It's awesome for us as parents. The education they can give Stevie is just what he needs at this point. It's challenging for him. And, unlike Cass City, he feels welcome at Carrollton. that alone earns point in our books. You see, Carrollton has a major program that teaches the kids without special needs how to deal with kids that do have them. That makes it better for the kids who do have troubles. they are more accepted, more liked. Cass City has nothing like that and that led to many times Stevie being shit on. He hated school there! I sure don't blame him. As far as I'm concerned, Cass City Schools suck! Anyway, Carrollton is just so good when it comes to teaching kids how to be friendly and tolerant of others who may have differences. That's why Stevie likes going to Carrollton!

Other than that, it's nice to be close to Delta and the VA. Since so much of my life revolves around those places, it does make it easier for me. That's a good thing.

I also like how much closer to the NorthLand we are. Hell, we took a day trip to Gaylord earlier this year. A day trip! We couldn't have done that from Cass City, Snover, or anywhere else in Sanilac County. Just as we wouldn't have come over this past Saturday for the OCC deal. It would not have been worth it then. I also don't think we would have went to any Saginaw Spirit games either. And, going to those has been a blessing. It made me fall back in love with hockey. There is just so much to do over here. So much good stuff is closer to us here than anywhere else we have ever been. that is so sweet!

So, see that's why I like living in Carrollton. It is just a great place.

The Summer Without Summer

I remember the summer of 1992 like it was yesterday. That was the coolest summer I had ever felt. It just never seemed like it got warm. Years later, i remember that one more than 1993 or 1994. It was so chilly.

Now, here it is 2009 and we are having that same kind of summer. Actually, it's a little bit cooler than that one was. We've set some record low high temps this summer. It's just been chilly! Now, I'm not complaining at all. I actually like it! It could be a little bit cooler as far as I'm concerned. I really hope we don't get a 90 degree snap anytime soon. That would suck!

So the summer without a summer is a good thing for me.

25 Years, Alaksa, iTunes, and Massa

25 YEARS - On December 8, 2009 it will have been 25 years since my 1st concert. December 8, 1984, KISS, Cobo Arena, Detroit. I was all of 14. That was such an awesome concert for me. It was so much fun and we also had the advantage of staying at my Grandma's house in Beverly Hills that night. It was so damn fun! We were drinking Seagrams Gin and 7-Up. It was mixed in a 2 liter 7-Up bottle. At the end of the night, after an awesome concert by the Hottest Band In The World, we went back to "Dynamite Granny's" (that became her nickname that night). Anyway, someone put the Gin/7-Up mix in her fridge. Yep. right next to her 2 liter bottle of 7-Up. Ooooppps! Now I don't know if she tried it or not, she never said, but that us with a great laugh for a very long time afterward. I really can't believe though that on December the 8th, 25 years will have past. Damn!

ALASKA - Since early 2005, I've had this dream of living in Alaska. It at times consumes me, others it's just a longing. I just would like to try it for 1 year at least. I mean Fairbanks would be the ultimate challenge. 21 hours of daylight at the end of June and then 21 hours of dark at Christmas. 40 below! The sights, sounds! The adventurer in me thinks Fairbanks, the sane part thinks Anchorage because it doesn't get as cold. I know it's crazy, but it's such a dream to me! From everything I have ever seen, people are accepted there a lot more readily than here in the Lower 48. Differences are welcomed as a sign of being a true person. Think about that! Anyone can go there and be welcomed! How cool is that? I finally have the Mrs. on board to going so that's cool. The only thing that has held me back for the last couple of years has been the step-son. I don't want the Mrs. to be that away from him and all that. But, as I've said, June 2012 he graduates. He'll be 18. Then, whatever happens, happens. Who knows?

iTUNES - iTunes is just awesome too! It's nice to be able to buy just a song or two by an artist and not have to buy the whole CD. That rocks! A great way to find all those songs we used to listen to growing up in D'Ville. Takes me back y'know? Thank You Apple!

MASSA - Felipe Massa, 28, driver for the Ferrari Formula 1 team, suffered a serious head injury today in qualifying for the Hungarian Grand Prix. He was hit in the head by a spring from another car. It smacked him in the helmet, broke the visor, and smashed up his eye. He had emergency surgery to relieve pressure from within his head and was put in a induced coma. Next update is comin later today. I really hope everything turns out OK for him and his family especially his 5 month pregnant wife. If he never races again, but can be a loving husband and father, that is all that matters. Prayers Felipe!

Adavntages To Living In Carrollton

Tricia, Stevie, and I were joined by Grant and Walker in going over to the Soaring Eagle Casino today to see Paul Teutel Sr. unveil a theme chopper for the Saginaw Band of Chippewa Indians. Teutel is the owner of Orange County Choppers and is featured in the TLC show "American Chopper". It was really neat to actually see here in Michigan. And, in person. Granted, it's not like I really got close to him, but it was still neat. I did get a great shot of him as he rode towards the stage for the debut. I was a little good and a lot lucky I'd say. It was just a cool thing to be doin on a Saturday afternoon and would've never been done if we still lived over in Sanilac County. Just another advantage to livin here in Carrollton.

Bits And Pieces

Is it August yet? - I really can't wait for the middle of August. That's when this Business Communications class will end. I really do not like the class. It is nothing to do with the teacher. She's nice and all. But, it's the only class I haven't liked at Delta so far. Sure, it's an over-glorified English class, but it is such a pain in the ass. I got a great grade going, but I will be glad when it's done.

Poll Numbers Shrinking - The support for President Obama's health care overall is dropping. Even a pro-Obama network like CNN has polls saying the people don't like it. That is surprising that CNN would even show that, but I digress. Anyway, it's just not a good plan. Even the CBO said it's gonna cost more and drive us further into debt. There are certain Democrats that don't like it either. What does that say? It says there are problems there. Things need to be looked at again. It needs to not ne rushed. I think everyone needs to step back, take a breath, and come back after the August recess and see what happens then.

Is it October yet? - KISS releases the new CD in early October. YES! I cannot wait for it! It sounds like it should rock! Sounds like it's not gonna be a "Psycho Circus" which was a weaker CD by KISS standards. Sure, the song "Psycho Circus" rocked, but the rest of it left something to be desired. I am so hoping this new CD does rock!

Let's Bounce Around Shall We?

IT'S 63 ON JULY 18TH - Yep! 63 degrees! On July 18th! This is like it is supposed to be in mid to late September, not the middle of July. Not I am not complaining, I like it personally, but I think it shoots yet another hole in that whole "Global Warming" thing. Oh wait! That's right, now it's "Climate Change" since the Earth ACTUALLY AIN'T warming like the scare masters tried to make you believe for the last few years. The bullshit, and the truth, finally caught up to them. So now they have to rearrange their words and actions to cover their asses. Those of us who didn't blindly follow the almighty Green Nazi Al Gore and his Green Reich are starting to feel a little vindicated. Each week more stats come out to prove that things are not as they seem. Reality strikes! And, it's a nice feeling! Anyway, it's 63 here, now! Yes, this is my kind of July so I'm gonna enjoy it!

I AM AN ADDICT! - Yes, I am an addict! I am addicted to NHL 09 on the PS3! I prefer to play in the "Be A Pro" mode. I like it because I only control 1 player and thanks to Create-A-Player, that is me. I used to rag on the step-son about playing video games all the time, and here I am an addict too! I guess it does take one to know one, huh?

THE HEROIN DIARIES - To me, the coolest book to come out in years is "The Heroin Diaries" by Nikki Sixx. Sixx, bass player for Motley Crue, wrote a diary for the year of 1987 in dealing with his drug problem. This book is intense and over the top. The diary entries are intense, the current notes are funny, and the whole book is just a look at a year in the life of a rock star. An intense year at that!

CASEVILLE - Had a wondeful time last weekend camping in Caseville. We stayed in a cabin, rustic, at the Sleeper State Park. It was Tricia, Stevie, Tony, and myself joined by Grant, Jody, and Walker. The whole weekend was real relaxing. We hit the beach, had some bonfires, drank some Blue Lights, and had a great time. It really wasn't bad for a weekend idea that came together at the last minute.

What The Hell?

What the hell............. was up with all that bullshit MediaMachine attention that was given to that fuckin idiot Michael Jackson? Did it really deserve all the attention it got? I sure in the hell don't think so! Sure, he was a decent entertainer, but he also was a pedophile! He paid off one kid, and had a wacked out sympathetic jury find him not guilty in the other. He was not found innocent. Listen, we all know the fucker did it! You don't pay someone off unless you are guilty. You just fuckin don't! And, to have it happen repeatedly, well says something doesn't it? Anyway, it was all just fuckin overblown! A new low for the bottom-feedin MediaMachine I'd say!

What the hell............. is those stupid fuckers diggin up graves for in Chicago? A strait ticket to hell is in store for those morons!!

What the hell............ am I doing this weekend? I am going to Caseville with the family. Grant and his family are going too! We're gettin a cabin at the Sleeper State Park and are gonna just chill all weekend. Hell yeah! We were supposed to go to Mio and the cabin, but that fell apart at the last moment and now we're hittin Caseville. It should be fun!

Thoughts And Shit!

OK, so much for the grillin idea. Rain! It could've rained tomorrow instead. Sheesh!

So the Wings lost Marian Hossa. I'm a little bummed, but not hurt too bad. It would've been nice if he would've stayed in Detroit, but that's the world of the salary cap NHL.

In a few days it will be July 4th. That's my 2nd favorite holiday behind Christmas. I used to hate Christmas, but that all changed after Stevie came along. Anyway, I love the 4th. I love fireworks. I love the flag. I love this country! It all adds together to make the 4th such a great thing for me. Happy Birthday America!

BTW, the Blue Lights are tasty tonight.

Jeff
