Michigan Is Heaven

MICHIGAN IS HEAVEN. Just look the hell around! See the woods? The water? The wildlife? Take a drive up 75 to the Straits. Look around! The hills, the pines! So beautiful! There are very few things in my life that make me happier than a trip North. It must be important to me since I know all the good exits by numbers. Like 279-282 is Gaylord, our Swiss Alp mecca. 202 is Alger. See? I know it! Crazy, but oh so right.

There is also very few things like being in the woods on November 15th at the crack of dawn. It has to be November 15th! Unlike other states, we are set in stone as it should be. Anyway, you're sitting there, it's quiet except for the crows cawwing. then you hear a little russel in the fallen leaves and turn to watch a little squirrel running around. You take a deep breath and Thank God you are alive, here in Michigan, to see this. You also thank the Spirit of the Wild for the blessing of such a great day.

You ever been down by Lake Huron on a rough late fall day? Listening to the violence of the waves as they crash ashore, the wind howling through the trees and attempting to knock off the remaining leaves in the trees,and the sight of the gray skies reminding you of the impending onslaught of winter. That was my childhood and I thank God everyday for it!

There is other stuff too! Watchin a field full of nothingness turn to a profitable crop in a couple of months, fishing anywhere because you are never too far from a lake or a pond, frieghters cruisin up the lakes, Oh hell yeah The Great Lakes!, woods, woods, and more woods!!!

Add in the great beast, the Whitetail! They are everywhere! Awesome!!

Finally, there are a lot of great people here! Salt of the Earth, hard workin, good people! There are a lot of them here. Friendliness is easy to find here. And, I love that too!
