I was sitting here thinking about something to write, but drawing a blank. So I just decided that I'd touch on a few things in general.
GM Ends Franchise Agreement With Garber Buick - How in the heck do you just throw away a 102 year old realationship with one of your best dealers? This was a move that made absolutely NO sense at all! This is the kind of stupid ass moves and decisions that got GM in this mess in the 1st place. I could understand if it was a poor performing dealership, but Garber isn't. That's what so mind boggling about this. With everything that Garber has done for GM, and for Saginaw, this is just wrong! Here's hoping the new GM reverses this stupid decision.
Have Clunker, Get Cash - Or not! The proposed Cash for Clunkers Bill, as it's called, passed the House this week. The only Republicans to vote for it were Michigan's Representatives. Not surprising! With re-election only a year and a half away, it's already time to do what they can for it. I find the bill interesting, yet slightly off. 1st, there seems to be this big thought that people are gonna automatically use these vouchers on Detroit 3 products. That we do not know for sure. I do not believe there is a provision that says it has to be a Detroit 3 car in the bill. So a lot of these could go for Hondas, Nissans, and Toyotas. No clause there! OK! The other thing is that most of the people that have these old cars, in most cases, do not have the credit, or the jobs/income, to afford a car payment. These people cannot buy a newer car. The only people who are gonna be able to truly take advantage of this bill are the people that just barely make the new requirements, and also have newer, better cars already. I think a part of the stimulus package passed last winter should've addressed this. To me, it would've been if you have 1 car, an income level below $25,000 a year, it drinks gas, it's 10 years old or older, you would've received a voucher to get a Detroit 3 car valued at $20,000 or less. It would've been done over a period of 2 to 3 years. That helps get old cars off the road and helps the Detroit 3 too!
Another Lefty At CNN? No.... - Yes! It was announced that Joy Behar, left-wing comedian and co-host of "The View", will be hosting a new show on CNN's HeadLine News later in the fall. She has filled in at times for Larry King in recent years, but this time it's her show. It was said she will follow Nancy Grace and be on at 9 PM. So we have yet another attempt to dislodge FoxNews by throwing something extreme left at it. Let's see, what else has there been? Phil Donohue, Keith Olbermann, Paula Zahn, Campbell Brown, Rachel Maddow, Dan Abrams, Jane Velez-Mitchell, and a few others. They have all failed or all currnetly losing! Why? Because liberalism does not play out well on the cable news channels! It just doesn't! So, here's the "we're not biased" CNN throwing yet another lefty TV show out there for us to get rid of. It'll be the American people's pleasure!
Do Our Babies Suck? - Good Ol Madonna has been given the clearence to adopt yet another kid from Malawi. OK, 1st of all, where exactly is Malawi? My guess is it some small African nation. Anyway, this is Madonna's 2nd child adopted from there. Which begs the question, why does she think American children are bad? She must! Why else would she go half way around the world to adopt when there are so many kids in the U.S. that could use a good home? What is wrong with kids here? Angelina Jolie is just as guilty of this too! I don't get it! As an adoptee myself, I find this to be a load of monkey piss! Adopt here! There is so many good kids here in the U.S. that could use a good home! You don't need to go overseas! Adopt here Madonna! Give a chilod in the States a better life! There are plenty of less fortunate kids here that would love to have you as a Mom. Enough of trying to help the whole world! Adopt here!
We Like Him, Not His Ideas - Kinda almost an oxymoron if you ask me. But, that's where America is starting to stand on President Obama. Recent polls find that people generally like him, but are turning on his policies. Popularity for the stimulus package is dropping, the bailouts and ownership of GM and Chrysler are not going over good, and his all over the place on the world stage is confusing people. The effects of the 1st 4 months are starting to show and people are a little concerned. I think people want to see him have a good level of sucess, this is reflected in his personal approval ratings, but are leery of how he's trying to do it. Very interesting! It will be neat to see how this plays out over the next year or 2. Where will the ratings go? How will the American people keep responding to the way business is being conducted? Let's follow, shall we?
The State Says You Make This Much - There seems to be this new thing in Washington for letting the Government set what pay people should get. One of the leaders of this charge is Barney Frank. He seems to want to cap it at $500,000 a year. Under his way, no one should make more than that. Oh wait, I imagine there's a provision in there somewhere for Hollywood, rock stars, and ketchup/steak sauce makers to make as much as the want, but no one else! What a bunch of baloney! That is socialism at it's best! No, that's downright communism! Who gave the Government permission to tell us how much we can make? Who told them we wanted a salary cap? WHO? Oh yeah, that's right, the people that forgot history and thought that change was only good! The people that gave almost complete control to the Dems last Novemeber. They must've wanted this! Or, they just voted and didn't remember history. The Dems have brought this up a lot in the past. The dream of making the pay scale for everyone! It's been there! Along with everything else. But, people just to seem to think that a leopard can change it's spots. It doesn't take a rocket scientist to figure out that the Dems are the Dems, and the Reps are the Reps! Nothing different, nothing new! So why should we be shocked that Barney Frank and his ilk are calling for Government controlled salaries? To anyone who pays attention, we shouldn't.
